Summer Catch Up!

Apologies to all for the lack of posts…. it has been a busy few weeks!!  We have had so many awesome groups and tons of fun!!  A HUGE HUGE thank you to our PCBT Team with a special shout out to our Alice Kelly Girls!!!  You gals rock!!  The girls placed first in the Boat Decorating Contest and weighed in the 2nd and 3rd place tuna!!  The boys had a fantastic showing during the main tournament finishing up 15th in a field of over 100 of the world’s best fisherman and boats – Way to go guys!!!!  The rest of the offshore days have been full of TUNA, DOLPHIN (MAHI MAHI), TILEFISH, BILLFISH, and even a quickie tower stop to visit our old friends the AJs!  Thank you again to all of our anglers!!!  You are what makes what we do so special!!!  We will be fishing a little deeper into the season this year before we make the jump to the birds… our last trips are scheduled for the beginning of October.  We still have a few days open so please get your day if you are ready to get out there… LET’S GO FISHING!!

 

Tournament Time!!

It’s that time of year!!  The tournaments are in full swing and this week is the biggie at Pirates’ Cove… Good luck to all our Lady Anglers fishing the Alice Kelly Memorial Tournament today (Sunday… Go Fistful Girls!!) and another Good Luck to everyone in the Billfish Tournament!! (Go Team Fistful!!)  The marina will be a flurry of activity all week – fishing starts on Tuesday and will continue through Friday.  This is a PUBLIC EVENT and EVERYONE IS WELCOME! We took a break from the near-shore scene and headed offshore with the rest of the fleet and private boats to participate in the Alice Kelly benefit tournament today… always a great time!!  Tons of fun and supporting a great cause all at one go 🙂  Thanks to Tiffany, Holly, and Shanna for joining us to participate in this all women’s tournament!!  We didn’t get into the billfish bite like we were hoping to but in true Fistful style brought in some meat and had a ball!!  The Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament is going on all week… everyone is always welcome to come down, walk the docks, and be a part of this annual event!!

Pirate’s Cove Tournament Week

Don’t forget this week is the 28th Annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament…this tournament attracts anglers from all over the world and produced the NC State Record Blue Marlin just 3 year’s ago weighing in at 1228.5 lbs!  This is always an extra exciting week at the Cove and you don’t have to be in the Tournament to join in the fun… The week kicks off with a boat decorating contest this Saturday at 6:00 pm as part of the 22nd Alice Kelly Memorial Ladies Tournament, then the girls head offshore to fish and support this great benefit cause on Sunday… The Billfish Tourney starts on Tuesday with boats fishing through Friday.  All the details can be found on the Pirate’s Cove website.  Come down and check out the stats, the standings, the catches, and all the fun when the boats get in each afternoon and give us a call if you just want to get out on the water to enjoy a great half, 3/4, or full day trip with your friends and family… we still have some openings during tournament week and would love to get you on the water!
